Lander University hosts its Veterans Day Breakfast in the Dawson Room of the Grier Student Center on Thursday morning, where Major (Retired) Kenneth Bath briefly spoke to the veterans in attendance prior to breakfast. MAJ Bath was an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and had four combat deployments, three of which were to Afghanistan and one to Iraq. Jason Smith, Lander’s director of Military and Veteran Services said the group enjoyed a “significantly larger turnout” this year. “It’s an honor to host an event such as this that gives us an opportunity to honor and give thanks to our students, faculty and staff who have served our country, or continue to serve,” said Smith.
